What is more important, money or knowledge? For me, I would love to be able to absorb an entire book, and learn and understand it and enjoy it by applying the knowledge I gained from it. What's stopping from doing it... time, money and the energy to maintain all that. You know gaining a career and earning money doing your part in something you enjoy is one thing, but being passionate, and doing what you enjoy, living, breathing it understanding is another, and I feel like if I keep doing my small part, I will not be where I want to be by the end of it, and that is a lot more then that small piece. Sure after a few years you have a lot more experience being able to do what you do, but will the passion still be there.
I had recently finished working on a game title, and to be honest, I didn't really care much for it. It was finished, and I was glad it was gone. Maybe it wasn't the best project to start out on. But I'm starting to realise, the commercial attitude of making the next thing to rake in some money, makes what I love, a fucking joke.
But what can I do now, nothing. In a few months, maybe, at the risk of being more jaded in that time, we'll see.
Money is a great thing to have to get what you need to take yourself further, but at the same time, you have to corrupt your energy and the things that drive you to be the absolute best at what you do. I would rather go back to how it was, studying and learning every single day and night, eating nothing but peanut butter and toast... Well I'm rambling again. I suppose it's been a while. I could probably write all night, considering how long it's been but I'll put a cork in it for now.
Night!
